Buscamos que te preguntes y preguntes a quiénes te rodean, que generes complicidad en torno la transmisión de los afectos: ¿Sabes por qué se casó tu abuela? ¿Sabes por qué casan a las niñas en India? ¿Sabes por qué no se casa tu vecina? ¿Sabes porqué tu tío se ha casado tres veces? Pregúntaselo…
LA EXPOSICIÓN
Los primeros 500 vídeos recibidos formarán parte de la exposición «OPEN BEDS. An exhibition about the patriarcal rules of love» que tendrá lugar en el Almudín de Valencia, entre el 20 de julio y el 24 de septiembre de 2017. La exposición cuenta con el soporte del Ayuntamiento de Valencia.
¿POR QUÉ?
Las culturas heteropatriarcales tienden a regular los comportamientos amorosos para asegurarse la fidelidad reproductiva mediante una relación contractual, pues adquieren el uso exclusivo de la propiedad sexual de su compañero o compañera y aseguran la descendencia consanguínea de la prole. El amor libre o la crianza matriarcal (esquemas sociales en los que los cuerpos no son propiedades privativas del consorte y la descendencia puede ser cuidada por igual por toda la tribu) son utopías de difícil alcance en el S. XXI incluso en según que lugar del planeta, proscritas por la ley. El matrimonio es el único juego amatorio posible que perpetúa estructuralmente el estatus social y su magnificación simbólica y administrativa hace difícil, sino imposible, sustraerse a él.

THE CHALLENGE
We are looking for 500 people who sit in their bed answer the question: Why did you get married? Or if you never have signed an affective contract with another person, answer the question: Why don’t you marry?

We are looking for people of all nationalities, ages, ethnicities, genders and religions. We want you speak in your native language and enjoy sharing and growing the challenge. We want you to ask yourself and ask the people around you, and generate complicity around the transmission of affections: Do you know why your grandmother got married? Do you know why girls are married in India? Do you know why your neighbor did not get married? Do you know why your uncle has been married three times? Ask them…
THE EXHIBITION
The first 500 videos received will be part of the exhibition «OPEN BEDS. An exhibition about the patriarchal rules of love» That will take place in the Almudín of Valencia, since 20th July, until 24th September 2017. The exhibition has the Support of the City Council of Valencia.
WHY?
Heteropatriarchal cultures try to regulate love behaviors to ensure reproductive fidelity through a contractual relationship, as they acquire exclusive use of the sexual property of their partner and ensure the descendants. Free love, or matriarchal society (social schemes in which the bodies are not the exclusive property of the consort and the descendants can be cared for equally by the whole tribe) are utopias, in the XXI century, proscribed by law even according to which place in the planet do you live. Marriage is the only possible amatory game that structurally perpetuates social status, and its symbolic and administrative magnification makes it difficult, if not impossible, to evade it.
Do, we ask at least «why»?
